Le Metier De Beaute Corinthian Swatch & Review

Click on any picture to enlarge

Taupe Lovers unite

Corinthian on lid and Bordeaux and Fire Lily in crease very lightly applied ( All Le metier shadows used)

Le Metier De Beaute eyeshadow in Corinthian has a cult following and is not an easy color to find in most areas. I bought it at my local Neiman Marcus, but even they only had 2 left and my local Nordstrom was sold out completely.

This color is a little hard to describe, it looks kind of like MAC's satin taupe, but its much more pigmented and has more frost too it,  just a prettier color all together and its double the size.
This retails for $30.00 , a  little high priced yes, but If you are a taupe lover, you need this :)

Sometimes taupe colors are way too boring for me, but not this color, its absolutely stunning. I have it applied lightly in the pictures, but it looks amazing when you pack it on the lid.

I know the pictures look grey but maybe because of the counter top, because if it was on brown, it would pull towards brownish color more.  Its like a chameleon color.

You won't be disappointed with this purchase :) Let me know your thoughts?

***Just got word from Le Metier De Beaute, starting in August this color will be stocked more, which means easier for you to find :) **********

Le Metier De Beaute Nail polish & swatches Nordstrom Exclusive

Nordstrom exclusive set

Midnight Rendevous

Heat of the night

True Romance

Chrome Passion

They do come in  individual mini boxes as shown

This is an Nordstrom Anniversary exclusive and it retails for $25.00, which is a great deal because each little bottle cost $10.00 each I believe.

I personally didn't care for these, the applicator is so small, and doesn't apply evenly. The colors didn't seem extra special too me, nothing I really could not find a dupe for.

I wanted to like these, BUT I just could not get over the small applicators.
The pigmentation is pretty good after two coats.

You might take a look at them If any color appeals to you. I do think they are cute little bottles, but that is not a reason to own them, in my case anyway.

True Romance and Chrome Passion were my favorites out of the four.

I wouldn't recommend these, just because the applicators are so small and the application wasn't even.  Maybe they would work with someone who has small hands.

Have you tried these? I would love to hear what your thoughts.

XOXO,

Vicki

Today while browsing at Ulta I came across the new Too Faced smokey eye palette, sound familiar?  Yes because they had a smokey eye palette before, but this is the second edition.

I was glad to see they made the palette quite a bit smaller, more compact and that means easier to travel with ( Hooray).
Both palettes new and old are both beautiful so I really don't like one more then the other, they are both very different and the best part, NO doubles!!

I HATE buying palettes when companies keep putting the same colors in a palette and only add a few new colors  and make a new palette with half of the colors we already have!  ( so annoying )

The price on this is $36.00 and the 3 larger colors are 2g each for total of 6g and the 6 smaller colors are 0.9g which totals 5.4. as opposed to the older palette which is  1.9 for the 3 bigger colors = 5.7g  and the 6 smaller 1.0 g = 6g.

So basically they made the 3 bigger ones in the new one a tiny bit more product and the smaller shadows have a tiny bit less.
Which is fine with me because the compact size is better in my opinion and the difference in quantity is so minimal  :)

Right now Ulta has a free mini lip liner and gloss with this purchase for free.

Will you be purchasing this?

Vicki

When I saw this palette up on the Urban Decay website , I bought it right away and good thing too because it sold out within a few hours.

It is absolutely gorgeous, I love that the palette is so versatile, you get your neutrals and brights all in one. I kind of  wish they would have made it a little more compact, but I guess since it is the 15th Anniversary they had to make it a good one with fancy packaging.

I do recommend you get this as soon as it comes back on the site again, because it will sell out.
I believe Ulta and sephora sell it on their websites as well.

Here are the colors and description:

Deeper (deep shimmery golden brown), M.I.A. (soft shimmery dark brown), Ace (dark gunmetal shimmer), Blackout (darkest, most saturated black), Half Truth (shimmery smoky purple), Tainted (pale matte purple with golden shimmer), Junkshow (bright pink w/fuchsia shift), Omen (shimmery metallic bright purple w/blue shift), Evidence (deep metallic blue), Deep End (bright teal shimmer), Midnight Rodeo (medium metallic brown w/silver and gold glitter), Midnight 15 (oyster pearl w/silver glitter), Vanilla (shimmery white gold), Flow (soft peach shimmer), Chase (metallic bright bronze)

Fill Weight: 15 x 1.3g e 15 x 0.05 US oz

This retails for $55.00

Did you pick this up??? What do you think??

Estee Lauder Pure Color Illuminating Powder Gelee Fall 2011 Swatch & Review

Promo Picture

Close up shows detail

Top: Dry Swatch , Bottom Wet swatch

This is the description from the site about this powder:

” A new “tribrid” system of liquid, powder and gel revolutionizes makeup application and wear. This first-of-a-kind, “multi-powder” formula creates a theatrical blur of shimmer on the skin when applied dry and a fierce flush of color when applied wet. The unique suspension of golden pigments and pearls float on top of the skin, resulting in a truly unique sensorial experience for skin. The futuristic powder is flexible and uses a luminosity boosting complex that makes the complexion appear perfectly smooth, sexy and glowing with a polished finish.

My thoughts:

I really like this, it feels like a silky powder, not a gel consistency at all , it is gorgeous as you can see by the pictures.

I was afraid because of the light pink tone, it wouldn't work well with my skin tone, but it does , I use it as a highlighter dry and have even used it on my eyes for a pop of highlight, and use it wet for a dramatic look on the eye.

The little sponge applicator works too ( you know so many products come w cheap applicators that don't work )

I wouldn't recommend using it wet on your face, unless you are going for a very dramatic look., like to a Halloween party ;)

This is worth a look if you are near an Estee Lauder counter. It is very lovely in person!!

It retails for $40.00

Wow Imats was a blast this year , I met so many great people and got to see and meet up with many people I have met from previous years.

Friday was filled with a few blogger events, which were totally fabulous, Royal & Langnickel & Cover FX which I attended with Robyn from Purely cosmetics.

Saturday was a mad house but great fun and so was Sunday, but all in all it was a great time and many things to buy and see.

Saturday evening I had dinner with the awesome and talented MUA Grace Chun and Lisa Nunez and Robyn from Purely cosmetics, love those ladies, always great to hang out with them :)

I also attented a few classes, which are always fun. I wish I had taken more pictures of the booths and more with my favorite people.

I finally met Stephanie from Aqua Hearts obsessions , she is such a sweetie and we hung out most of Sunday at Imats.

I bought some awesome goodies too, which I will haul eventually.

I look forward to Imats every year, and can't wait to see everyone next year :)

Were you there?? Let know how your experience was.

XOXO,

Vicki
