City Color Cosmetics Timeless Beauty Palette

I was lucky enough to be a guest at Generation Beauty this past January and this was one of the items that I received in my swag bag from the party that was held Friday before the actual event.

This comes with four blush and 3 highlighters/multi use powders.
Look how gorgeous the palette is, I mean look at those huge highlighters on the bottom row!!

Most of the blush colors are really pigmented except for the last color on the right.

It is a lighter color so maybe it just needs more layering with my skin color.
Although I am not very dark.

It needs are few layers to get good pigmentation , but that could be because it is a bit light for my skin tone.

Now onto the highlighters below.

photo taken in direct sunlight

These are absolutely gorgeous, super saturated and have great pigmentation and blend so seamlessly on the skin.

They do have glitter flecks and do kick up a little so use a light hand.

I use them in the center of my eyelids to add a punch of color.

This palette will be released March 1 , 2016 here on City Colors website if you're interested.

Vicki

Lunatick Cosmetic Labs Lipstick in Lacrimosa Review and Swatch

I have heard about Lunatick Cosmetic Labs before but never really thought about trying anything from the brand.

That is until I saw the most fabulous picture of someone wearing this specific color on Instagram.

OMG!! This color is so gorgeous and complex looking.

Love the black little bullet tube that the lipstick comes in and the it came wrapped in black tissue paper with colored glitter , I thought that was a nice touch.
The box is cute too but my issue is the shipping cost.

Lacrimosa is such a gorgeous color on its own but it also looks just as good as a topper on any other lipstick shade.

It does have glitter flecks in it and yes it travels a bit which is a bummer and the formula is little dry in my opinion.

Retail is $15.00 which is reasonable but shipping was $6.00, which is outrages in my opinion for one little lipstick.
It could easily be shipped in a first class envelope in bubble wrap for much cheaper.

I still love the color and I would recommend this because it is limited edition.
I won't order from them again unless the product is as fabulous looking as Lacrimosa or the shipping cost comes down.

Again it's the high shipping price that I dislike overall.

XOXO,

Vicki

Burberry London With Love Illuminating Bronzer Review and Swatches

I saw a picture of this a few weeks back and seriously it was love at first site.  Is that possible with a makeup product?? Hell Yes it is!

I looked at Burberry and it was sold out online, checked at all the high end department stores and they had no clue what I was talking about.

I even called the New York flagship store to see how I could get this bad boy in my hands Stat.

Long story short after I got the run around , I was able to order it from the San Francisco flagship store.

C'mon how adorable is this powder??

I know Burberry calls it a illuminating bronzer but in no way is it a bronzer, at least I wouldn't say it is.
It really just is a straight up illuminator.

It does have the usual Burberry fragrance , which I know can be a little overwhelming for some people.

Light color, darker color, mixed

The color really reminds me of the limited edition one that was released for Holiday , which you can still get.

If you didn't get that one I say jump on this one instead.

I see that it is up again on the Burberry site again, so I highly recommend you hurry and get it before it sells out again.

Vicki

Tarte Rainforest of the Sea water foundation Review and Swatches

Indoor lighting/ just out of the dropper
Medium and Tan
Outdoor lightning blended to show coverage.

Tarte recently released their new Rainforest of the Sea Collection on their website and at Ulta and Sephora.

I got mine back in September from QVC, it was an exclusive limited edition to them until 2016.

Now back when I got mine it only came is the shades fair, light, medium, tan and deep.

So I got medium and tan because I am usually in between shades from QVC.

Now that they're on for sale at many more retailers, the colors come in an expanded shade range which is great for everyone.

I have to mix the two I have to get my shade so that was the only bummer of the limited release to the Q.

Now onto the foundation review.

It feels weightless on my skin and gives a natural satin finish.

I am more on the oily side of the spectrum and this is perfect for me.

The like that this has a dropper applicator and it blends flawlessly.

I highly recommend this foundation and it will great for the spring and summer months.

I can't wait to try more from the new line.

What will you be picking up from the line??

XOXO,

Vicki

Lancome My Parisian Pastels Illuminating Color Cubes Review and Swatches

Top Row 1-3: top picture indoor lighting and bottom picture outside lighting

Middle Row 4-6: top picture indoor lighting and bottom picture outside lighting

Bottom Row 7-9: top picture indoor lighting and bottom picture outside lighting

Have you checked out the new Lancome Spring 2016 collection yet??

It is so pretty and the packaging is super cute. ( Yes that gets me every time)

With Lisa Eldridge leading the brocade how can it be bad, right?? She is fabulous.

I haven't seen much about this particular item, My Parisian Pastels color cubes.

These are little shimmer cubes that give off soft colors but can easily be built up.

Each come comes in it's own little plastic container , which I personally like.

You do have to take off the lids to use but seriously it is not a big deal nor a deal breaker by any means.

I love how they're individually numbered and you can also use them all together.

I use them both ways and really like them.

The packaging is so cute too.

You will get a little fallout but these are so finely milled you just use a brush and they sweep away very easily.

You must use a eye primer if you want color on the lids , at least I do to make them last for several hours.

Retail is $59.00 and you can find them wherever Lancome is sold.

XOXO,

Vicki

Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lipsticks Review and Swatches

Jordana has NEW Sweet Cream matte liquid lipsticks popping up at Walgreen's everywhere.

The store display only had 8  colors but I believe there are maybe 12 colors in this collection.

Strawberry Cheesecake, Raspberry Tart, Mixed Berry, Cherry Cobler

Let's start with the amazing color selection these come in.

The pigmentation is amazing and the SMELL , oh my goodness it is heavenly.

Just as the name says it is indeed a sweet cream smell almost like frosting.

The smell doesn't last very long so if you are sensitive to smell no need to fret because it will go away  but the lip color stays put.

These are very creamy at first and need a few minutes to dry completely.

I got a good 4 to 5 hours wear time on these and did have some fading after a couple of hours.

These can be a little drying.

These are only $4.99 and this week they are on sale at Walgreens for BOGO 1/2 off.

That is a total steal.

You definitely need to try these.

XOXO,

Vicki

NYC New York Lovatics by Demi Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches

NYC New York has collaborated with Demi Lovato and came out with a collection called Lovatics by Demi.

The collection has three different color palettes but I only seen the natural color at my local Target store.

The colors are numbered on the back and have a numeric tutorial which shows you how to get three different looks.  This is great for beginners.

You get 12 wearable shades with both matte and shimmer formulations.
This palette can easily take you from a day to night look with minimal effort.

To be honest for only $6.99 , I wasn't expecting much from this palette but to my surprise it is pretty good!!

I mean the pigmentation is good and very minimal fallout.

I know you probably have so many neutral colors in your collection but this is so affordable I definitely recommend this.

XOXO,

Vicki

Stila Aqua Glow Serum Foundation in Medium and Medium Tan Review and Swatches

Medium and Medium Tan

Seems like several makeup brands are jumping on the serum foundation train lately.

Stila aqua glow is an ultra-lightweight, ionized, water-based foundation with buildable and natural-looking coverage.

I wasn't sure how I would like this but I decided to give it a shot.

Coverage is light to medium and the color selection isn't so great.

I have to mix medium and medium tan to get my shade, which at $45.00 a bottle is definitely not worth it to me.

I really like the coverage and it feels light nothing on your face and I love the finish.

If you can find your shade I highly recommend this.

For now I will pass and hope they come out with more shades.

XOXO,

Vicki

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani Blush Palette Review and Swatches

Urban Decay came out with the Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow palette a few months ago and now they recently released the rest of her collaboration collection with them.

I didn't run out and buy this when it was first released , but so glad I finally have it now.

Can we just admire the packaging? Just as cute as the eyeshadow palette.

Cherry, Easy, Angel, Lo-Fi , Hush , OC

The blushes are really soft , very easy to blend and yes have kick up which is a little more than I prefer to have in my blushes.

I do wish it had maybe 1 or 2 more darker / brighter shades in the palette.

Although the palette works for me and I really like it , I don't feel this will work on darker complexions.

Hey I am an Orange County girl myself and a big fan of No Doubt and Gwen so I basically had to have it.

Retail is $45.00

Have you tried the palette yourself?

XOXO,

Vicki
